Steph’s Smitten List: Rebounding, Fanny Pack, Spontaneous Trips

This week, I’m positively smitten with:

1. Rebounding: Which is essentially a fancy word for jumping on a mini-trampoline for exercise! This is my new favorite physical activity, and I’ve only been doing it for three days. I purchased a high quality mini-trampoline from Amazon (they were suprisingly inexpensive) after realizing I wanted to mix up my cardio routine. Since I don’t like to run, I often don’t get my heart rate up during exercise. Not anymore! Jumping on a trampoline for exercise is great cardio, low impact on your joints, extremely effective for leg toning, and actually extremely fun – and there’s many more health benefits. If you happen to have a mini-trampoline and a small space somewhere in your house, simply find a YouTube “Rebounding” workout or pop in some fun music and you’re good to go!

2. Fanny Pack: I had a few dozen fanny packs when I was growing up in the ’90s, but then they sort of went out of style and I tossed them all. I’m not sure what I was thinking, fanny packs are practical and functional, and I’ve had a reason to wear one a lot lately. Sure, you may be thinking that I could just swing a bag over my shoulder, hold onto a purse, or use a pants pocket to carry my personal belongings, but it’s just not the same sometimes. I considered it a necessity, and now I’m the proud owner of a fanny pack here in the 21st century. (Note: while typing this post, I found this article published a few hours earlier on how celebs are bringing the fanny pack, or “unisex purse”, back!)

3. Spontaneous Trips: I’m a planner who needs weeks of advance notice to prepare for things. Because of this, it can be tremendously hard to see the value in a spontaneous get-away, but planner or not, the benefit of going with the flow is so worth it! In fact, I can check off an item on my summer bucket list because I have successfully taken a handful of day trips and over-nighters this summer. If you have not done this yet, hurry – you still have time to treat yourself to something adventurous while the sun is still out!

What are you positively smitten with?

    • They are so affordable, light-weight and easy to set up. I recommend you get yourself one if you think you’d enjoy it as much as you did when you were younger!

Yes, Matthew McConaughey in a fanny pack 🙂
