Steph’s Smitten List: ‘Try’, Kacy Catanzaro, THINX

This week I’m positively smitten with:

1. ‘Try’: This empowering song (and beautiful music video) by Colbie Caillat is all about how we don’t need to try to fit a certain mold to be accepted. We just need to be ourselves:Wait a second, Why, should you care, what they think of you. When you’re all alone, by yourself, do you like you? Do you like you? You don’t have to try so hard. You don’t have to, give it all away. You just have to get up, get up, get up, get up. You don’t have to change a single thing.” I’m so smitten with this song, I think I may just play it every morning as a reminder before I start my day.

2. Kacy Catanzaro: There’s something so exciting about a super strong girl competing in a male dominated event – and holding her own. When I watched this video of Kacy, 24, as she became the first woman to make the finals of “American Ninja Warrior”, I was smiling ear to ear as if I was her sister, so proud of her accomplishments. This chick is strong, confident, and a tough competitor. Gotta love it! And everyone was rooting for her.

3. THINX: It’s not so much the product they’re promoting (although I do love me some undies that are pretty and practical), but it’s the fact that these three young women are friends and entrepreneurs. They took a common problem and turned it into a business opportunity (“thoughtful underwear with hidden powers”!), and their little video here is relatable, smart, funny, and effective! Oh, and they do good things for women all around the world with their business…

What are you positively smitten with?
