This week, I’m positively smitten with…
1. Solange Knowles: I’ve written plenty about her famous sister, but this week, I’m loving on Solange Knowles. I recently snagged her album “True” and, even though it’s just 8 tracks long, I can’t get enough. Solange has a beautiful voice and makes really catchy, fun music. (I highly recommend “Some Things Never Seem to Fucking Work” for your next bad day.) Plus, she has fantastic style — it’s quirky and elegant at the same time.
2. Crock Pot Beef and Broccoli: If it’s a crockpot recipe, I’m willing to try it — mostly because I’m not a huge fan of cooking. Bill recently stumbled across this incredible crockpot recipe for beef and broccoli, which tastes just as good as beef and broccoli at a fancy restaurant, without all the calories. The sauce is so good you’ll want to try it on everything.
3. Kim Kardashian App: Ugh, fine, I admit it: I love the Kim Kardashian game. Maybe I should be embarrassed, but it’s so much fun! You get to create your own avatar, and work your way from E-list celebrity to A-list celebrity by participating in work opportunities (photo shoots, paid appearances); networking with (or dating) the right people; and finding your way into the news. Honestly, the game is incredibly self-aware, poking fun at how insipid the “game” of Hollywood really is… but it’s also super addicting. And despite reports that Kim will make $200 million from the game, you don’t have to pay a thing to play. If you need something to replace Candy Crush, I highly recommend the Kim Kardashian game. No judgments, okay?
