Steph’s Smitten List: Wooden Cats, Gray Cats, Dogs

This week, I’m positively smitten with…

1. Wooden cats – named after me: My adorable two-year-old niece, Adelaide, just named her wooden cat “Stephie” after me. It doesn’t matter that this cat is purple and red and won’t ever ‘meow’ – I’ve never been more flattered, or smitten, in my life! Love you, Adelaide!!

2. Gray cats: I guess I’m also smitten with real cats lately…gray ones. I’m in the process of possibly adopting a cat to add to my little family of four (my boyfriend and me and our two puppies). I’ve never had one before but I admire their independence,  confidence, and quiet manner. And I’ve always had a thing for gray cats (long story, but they’re symbolic of a lot of things in my life…). What do you think, should I get one??

3. Dogs: With all this cat talk, I can’t possibly not be smitten with my dogs! I just spent a weekend in West Rutland, Vermont at a dog-friendly B&B. We had so much fun with our two puppies and all the other dogs and their people – sometimes you just need a weekend away with your four-legged friends to remember how to play and unwind. I’m totally smitten with my little Hank and Loretta.

What are you positively smitten with?

  1. I am generally not a cat person- but it has been my experience if you get a kitten and raise it with dogs – you will end up with an awesome cat. So do it Steph! Get a kittie!
By the way, we added a baby gray kitten, named Heui last summer! You will have to come and meet him.
