Bring on the Resolutions in 2014 | Positively Smitten

It could be that I love the song “Auld Lang Syne” that they play on New Year’s Eve, or maybe it’s the countdown to midnight that makes my heart beat with excitement and nerves. Whatever it is, this is another one of my favorite times of the year. While some people don’t like to set themselves resolutions, I like to challenge myself to do a number of things in the coming 365 days – it’s incentive to live each day to the fullest!

Without further ado, here’s what I would like for myself in 2014, in line with what we at Positively Smitten consider significant aspects of young women’s lives:

Beauty: Out of respect for my body, don’t pick, poke, or pop any blemishes

Career: Stop speaking about myself and abilities with even a tiny hint of doubt

DIY: Attempt something crafty I’ve been meaning to try, like making hats

Entertainment: Host a dinner party with our great friends

Inspiration: Work on my novel that’s been sitting in a drawer for over a year

Life: Master the art of doing nothing when a mental or physical break is in order

Relationships: Continue to say “I love you” too many times a day, and forgive easier

Wellness: Less coffee and sugar, more water and sleep
