This week, I’m positively smitten with:
1. Tree Change Dolls: If you ever wondered why Bratz dolls wear so much makeup, you’re not alone, and you will love Tree Change Dolls as much as I do! According to her website, one amazing woman decided to rescue and rehabilitate dolls, swapping high-maintenance glitz ‘n’ glamour for down-to-earth style. “I hand repaint the dolls’ faces, mold new shoes, and my Mum sews and knits their clothing…I love the satisfaction of repairing and reusing discarded items to give them a new lease on life.” The results are incredible; the dolls are youthful, natural, realistic, charming, and a much better doll for our children to play with.
2. Yellow Gold: When it comes to jewelry and decorating, I much prefer yellow gold over silver-toned or white gold. I’m not necessarily talking about expensive gold: I have cheap items from a variety of stores that are simply made to look gold, and I think they’re absolutely stunning: from frames and candle holders to earrings and buttons. I’m not sure why, but yellow gold is not that popular, but it’s making a comeback according to the jeweler who sold my fiance the yellow gold engagement ring that now sits on my finger. I can see why: wearing it and decorating with it makes me feel gorgeous, unique, and…maybe even a little bit like a queen!
3. Yoga: Since the start of the year, I’ve committed myself to doing yoga every Sunday. I introduced yoga into my weekly schedule for a number of reasons: to change up my fitness routine, to stretch and breath deeper, to relieve back pain, and to feel really good head to toe. I’ve found that I look forward to the time that I set aside for yoga – it’s an interesting balance of allowing myself to relax while also waking up my entire body. For those who don’t do yoga regularly, I strongly recommend you give it a try and see how good it feels.
