This week, I’m positively smitten with…
1. Baddie Winkle: I’m sad to admit I’ve only just now learned about Baddie Winkle, but my life has already been improved. Baddie Winkle is an 86-year-old grandma who loves life (and weed, among other things). She rose to prominence after her great-grandaughter posted her picture on Twitter and has since taken off as an internet sensation in her own right. Baddie Winkle is hysterical, from her youthful fashion sense to her fun dance moves. Plus, she can rock a shiny blue crop top than and some cut-offs better than most of us. Baddie Winkle reminds us all that, like wine, we just get better with age.
2. The Bay Tree Project: With so many dogs who are in need of a good home, Bay Tree Rescue — a small kennel in Oroklini, Cyprus, where dogs who are mistreated or disabled are often dropped off and nursed back to health — took a different approach when it came to trying to get their pups adopted. For The Bay Tree Project, the organization teamed up with photographer Stuart Holroyd to create the kind of whimsical photos that could get any dog adopted. They’re sure to make you smile! (If you’re interested, the shelter is also accepting donations.)
3. Finish App: I feel like I have a never-ending “to do” list going on in my head. I recently downloaded an app called Finish that lets me plug in all of the items I want to accomplish, set a due date for each, and get reminders about the things I haven’t yet completed. I love it so far, especially because I almost always have my phone with me, so whenever I come up with another task, I can just plug it into the app (instead of my alternative, which is scribbling it down in one of my hundreds of notebooks and then forgetting about it). If you need help keeping your “to do” list organized, check it out!
