This week, I’m positively smitten with:
1. Potting Benches: I do a lot of gardening, therefore I have tools, gloves, potting soil, pots, garden trinkets, seeds and the like in multiple places around our yard – that is until my amazing boyfriend surprised me with a handmade potting bench to house all of these items in one spot! There it sits in my breezeway – beautiful, organized, and an easy way to store all of my gardening materials. I also love that it can even double as an extra serving table during outdoor picnics! Check out all these creative potting benches on Pinterest!
2. Money 101: I started reading my boyfriend’s copy of “Dave Ramsey’s Complete Guide to Money” last week and I’m really glad I picked it up. I’ve always known that stashing aside some of my paycheck each week and carefully deciding where my hard-earned money goes are critical steps for financial peace-of-mind, but it’s always easier said than done. I realized I’m not doing nearly enough to be in charge of my money and how it’s spent, rather my money is often in charge of me (another purchase at Marshalls and Pier 1 and dinner out at The Olive Garden? Sure, I deserve it). Whether you read this book, any other financial guidance book, or check out these finance 101 tips from Crystal, I recommend getting educated on your money!
3. Freedom: Fourth of July fireworks, patriotic songs, the American flag, cookouts with family, friends, and neighbors – it all makes me feel warm and fuzzy. This country, like all the others, has its political corruption, controversial issues, and set-backs every day, but there are a zillion reasons why I’m so grateful to be living in a country where I have my basic freedoms and can dream. I often take it for granted – it’s so easy to. This world really scares me sometimes, but Independence Day reminds me of all the reasons I’m proud to be here in the USA.
