Steph’s Smitten List: My Boyfriend, Activity Tracker, Olive Oil

Long Stem Rose

This week I’m positively smitten with…

1. My boyfriend: When The Bachelor’s Juan Pablo turned into such a jerk toward the end of the season, which wrapped up earlier this week, it reminded me of all the reasons I’m grateful for my boyfriend. Ladies, don’t take for granted a guy who can make you laugh, cares about what matters to you, has many interests, looks toward a future together, and engages in conversation about all things, big and small. Juan Pablo displayed none of that; sadly, he only showed how much he likes to kiss. This week and every week, I’m smitten with my boyfriend. (Chris, will you accept this rose?)

2. Activity Tracker: I sit a lot at work, but I do everything I can to get up and move around, not just for my sanity but to burn a few calories as well. That’s why I’m so excited about my new Activity Tracker, a small gadget I wear that captures my daily fat and calories burned, steps taken, distance traveled, and activity times. Activity tracking is not a new concept, but I’m just getting into it – I even track my progress with MapMyWalk, a free app. And I have to say, when my steps are being counted, I go the extra mile to fit more into my day!

3. Olive Oil: OK, this one is going to sound silly but I love, love, love buying these big jugs of Capatriti, Filippo Berio, and Bertolli oil to put on display in my house. Sure, olive oil is a great cooking essential, and a healthy fat to eat and use on our bodies to boot, but when the tin containers are empty they also make great pieces of art. There’s something so vintage about them! Oh, and don’t get me started on empty Sclafani and Tuttorosso tomato sauce cans…

  1. I am positive smitten with http://idyll-wilde.com/ because I might get the opportunity to be a part of their team, and my husband who comes home tomorrow night, and my scrap map which is on its way to completion.
