Letter From Your Editors: Charities, Collaborations, and Celebrations (Oh My!)

Flower Heart

Hi everyone.

It’s been a great couple of months for PS, and we have all of you to thank! If it wasn’t for your dedicated time spent on PS, your submissions to the magazine, and your ongoing support, PS would not be where it is today. We thought it was time to formally touch base with all of the AMAZING people who help make PS what it is. So, without further ado, here are a few announcements:

Six-Month Anniversary

Positively Smitten is now six months old as of Sunday, Sept. 1. Where does the time go?

In honor of that, we shared a special announcement on Friday, Aug. 30. All you have to do is share with us what it means to be “positively smitten”, and you will have the chance to win a super cute tote bag! PS editors Crystal and Steph will also be sharing what being “positively smitten” means to them!

Positively Philanthropic

We are currently looking for a new organization to feature for Positively Philanthropic. We loved the Looking Out Foundation, and we’d like to spotlight another foundation doing wonderful things! If you have a suggestion for what charity (or charities) we should be looking into (it doesn’t need to be something official — small organizations and endeavors count, too!) please email us.

Collaborations

In case you missed it, PS editors Steph, Crystal, and Liz were interviewed at The Toonari Post for a series about young women in the media. Read the interview, in parts one and two.

Kendra Williams, a PS staff writer and the owner of Kreative Creationz, featured us in a recent post for Blogger Appreciation Month.

We’d like to extend a HUGE thank you to Chioma and Kendra!

New Endeavors

We will be launching a new column, PS Confessions, that allows for anonymous posts. We know, we know: it pretty much goes against every rule ever created in journalism. But we’re hoping to allow people to write and post about things that are very personal — health issues, family issues, sex, love, hardship — without the pressure of having the stories tied to their names professionally.

We’re currently accepting submissions, not just for PS Confessions but other articles as well, so please feel free to email us anytime at positivelysmittenmagazine@gmail.com with your ideas.

Thank you

Thank you, everyone, for all that you’ve done for Positively Smitten over these last several months. We couldn’t have done all of this without your support! Every day we push forward with PS, we feel a mountain of gratitude toward you all. You might even say we’re kind of smitten with you. 😉

Love,

Crystal and Steph
